After suffering too many headaches a visit to my doctor (February 2009) revealed that blood pressure was hitting around 195 over 120 (120/80 is considered ‘normal’).

I had always enjoyed good health up till then but I had to admit that my state of health had seriously got out of whack.

After two months of taking a prescription ACE inhibitor the only thing I got was a persistent and irritating dry cough and constant tiredness. My high blood pressure refused to come down. I stopped taking the medication and started looking for alternatives (and started this blog).

Within a month of trying natural methods my blood pressure started to drop. Month after month is continued to drop. Six months on and my blood pressure levels are down to the 125/135 systolic 85/95 diastolic. Well out of danger.

Now I often enjoy reading of below 120/80. Something I would not have believed possible even a few months ago. I feel a lot better too. I have more energy and my confidence and naturally good disposition has returned.

Listed below are the 5 programs I have purchased, studied, and used in my journey from blood pressure hell to heaven.

Get Natural! Drop Your Blood Pressure

– score: 9.5 out of 10

Kevin Riley’s 12 week program to lower your blood pressure without the use of prescription medications is a both an informative and enjoyable guide on blood pressure lowering food. The author is no monk or stale academic – he brings the subject of good eating and healthy food alive.

If you love food, and love to eat – this guide is for you. You’ll learn new ways to enjoy food, develop new tastes – and your blood pressure will drop as a consequence.

Breatheasy slow breathing exercises

– score: 9 out of 10

If you need to drop your blood pressure by 10 points fast (like today) then BreathEasy slow breathing exercises will do it. Just 15 to 30 minutes of doing these exercises will result in a significant drop in your blood pressure. I would not have believed it until I tried it myself.

Mind you, doing one or two slow breathing exercises is not a permanent fix, nor is it the only natural method you should consider if you suffer from very high blood pressure.

However slow breathing exercises have a cumulative effect over time and combined with good diet and physical exercise you should be able to get your blood pressure back to healthy levels without the need for medication.

The High Blood Pressure Remedy Report

-  score: 8 out of 10

This report is a comprehensive compilation of natural remedies on high blood pressure. It touches on all aspects of natural remedies to lower blood pressure but lacks a clear guide for those asking – ‘ where do I start?

Low Pressure Sex by Frank Mangano

– score: 5 out of 10

This is guide covers in detail foods and dietary supplements that assist in lowing blood pressure. The bottom line regarding sex is that high blood pressure interferes with sexual performance … so lowering it should improve it.

It also comes with a sex counseling book for longterm monogamous couples ‘Couples Guide‘ and ’5 Libido Killers’. (But there’s nothing in there that you wouldn’t hear if you listened to Opera regularly.)

Additionally, this program includes an e-book ‘Bonus Recipe Sexual Surge‘ – a list of chemical sexual supplements you can put together and use (a kind of D.I.Y. Viagra). Can’t say I’ve tried any of these concoctions – yet.

I have knocked points off the score because in my opinion it lacks a clear plan to lower BP. For example, the ‘sixty day plan’ consists of mainly blank spread sheets you are supposed to fill in yourself. I would have expected more.

A more in-depth and complete review will be coming forth shortly. To view the Low Pressure Sex website click HERE

P.S. Since purchasing his product, Frank has been sending me promo emails and links to weight loss products #^(!!
Indeed, the subtext of his book seems to be as concerned with reducing weight as reducing blood pressure. Accordingly I have taken another another point off his score. Sorry Frank, buts it blood pressure I’m concerned not just weight reduction.

P.S. If you don’t already have one, I would highly recommend you get yourself an arm cuff blood pressure monitor you can use at home. That way you can keep tabs on your progess and see what’s working. Don’t just rely on readings at the doctor’s office or local drug store. You may be getting false readings.
